Outpost is an independent iOS app and related cloud service and is not affiliated with Rivian Automotive, Inc.
To function, Outpost connects to your Rivian account using secure authentication tokens. Your Rivian credentials (email and password) are never stored on our servers.
We strongly recommend that you connect a secondary Rivian account to Outpost, not your primary Owner Account. Rivian, in theory, could block the account associated with Outpost since it is using unofficial APIs. By using a secondary Rivian account you ensure that your main Rivian account is never locked.
Data collection from your Rivian vehicle only occurs when you have an active Outpost+ subscription.
When active, Outpost retrieves data such as trip summaries, charge sessions, and vehicle state from Rivian. This data is stored securely in our cloud infrastructure to support features like cross-device access, historical insights, and aggregated usage reports.
You are always in control. You may delete your account at any time, which will stop all data access and delete stored authentication tokens.
Outpost stores vehicle-related data securely in the cloud to support historical insights and enable future app functionality. If you delete your account or request data deletion, we will permanently remove all associated data from our systems.
